Grup de Velers RC IKARUS of Santa Coloma de Gramenet invites all interested model pilots of F3F slope racing to participate in the fourth edition of the Open Catalunya - Santa Coloma 2010 contest, which has been included in the international calendar of the European League of slope soaring gliders F3F (Eurotour 2010) It will take place on 6th and 7th March in the slopes of Puig Castellar, in the town of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, near Barcelona.

The slope of the competition is placed in the Natural Parc of the Serralada de Marina, in the coastal mountains that surround the city of Barcelona. The southeastern slope offers a spectacular view to the area of Barcelona and the coast. On the other side, northwestern slope allows you to have a nice look at the inner Catalunya region and the Pyrenee's summits in clear days.

Planning and competition rules


The competition will be subjected to the established FAI F3F rules. The organization has planned to deliver commemorative presents to all participants and trophies to the winners.
Please, specify the size (L, XL, XXL or XXXL) of the pilot's T-shirt in the item "comments" of the application form.

STARTING LIST

To participate in the contest, you need to fill out the application form. The deadline to enrol is February 26th. A maximum of 40 pilots will be accepted.

The contest fee is 35 euros (T-shirt included), which have to be paid in the bank account of the organizing club. The pilot's surname and the reference 'OPEN 2010' must be included in the banker's order. Competitors have to make sure that money transfer cost will not be charged to the organizers (receivers).

The date and hour of the banking entry determines the order of inscriptions and the preference in the allocation of frequencies, if they are coincident. The deadline to receive the bank order is February 26th. The final list will be published in the website on March 1st.

Picnic

The organization will supply participants with drinks and picnic on Saturday and Sunday (6 euros per picnic). Picnic will include one sandwich to choose, drink and two pieces of fruit. The chosen sandwiches for Saturday and Sunday must be specified in the inscription form.

Lodging and evening meal

The organization has blocked in advance a certain quantity of rooms for the participants and his family/helpers in The Hotel Eurostar Barbera-Parc (4*), about 20 min from the competition area. The competition dinner will be celebrated in this hotel on Saturday, at 9:30 pm.

The special offers for the participants are the following:

- Double room for individual use (night bed): 54 euros
- Double room for individual use (night bed and breakfast): 60 euros
- Double room (night bed): 54 euros
- Double room (night bed and breakfast): 68 euros

These are prices per night and room (VAT included). The breakfast consists of a buffet.

Pre booking: Each participant must contact (by phone or email) to the hotel. The reference is 'OPEN 2010'.

You must indicate in the inscription form if the pre booking has already been done. Once it has been checked that the transfer on the club account is correct, the club will confirm the room bookings with the hotel and will inform the participants that the booking has been correctly processed.

Evening meal

On Saturday night (from 9.30 pm), the competition dinner with all the participants will take place in the hotel lounge.

The competition dinner costs 30 euros per person (VAT included). The chosen menu (fish or meat as a main course) and the number of participants (adults/children) must also be specified in the inscription form.

VERY IMPORTANT: The hotel room, dinner and picnic amounts must be paid in the club account when filling out the application form with the reference 'OPEN 2010'.
